The View
Johanci was delighted to create a duo of bespoke paintings (diptych) for a newly renovated entrance at her clients' beautiful home in the Winelands of the Western Cape, South Africa. Johanci painted "The View" on location where a large studio space was temporarily set up for her.
Her clients wanted an extension of the view that they have of the mountains between Stellenbosch, Paarl & Franschhoek and opted for two large statement abstracts in the entrance lobby.
The brief was for their paintings to be heavily textured with colours from nature, including some metallic shades. Johanci mixed a colour palette drawing reference from their newly decorated home furnishings and gorgeous colour scheme, making their artwork unique to them.
In terms of composition, the outline of the mountain view from their home was key and used throughout. This makes their paintings so unique to them and certainly provides an extension of their view of the winelands!
Various shades of heavily textured soft tones were used throughout.
