"Dulcius ex Asperis" was painted for a client's milestone birthday.
Johanci's client chose a beautiful colour palette personal to their family and there were several discussions about "Dulcius ex Asperis" (Sweeter after Difficulties) with incorporating bringing the outdoors inside with this painting.
The overall effect has a sense of playfulness whereby the onlooker will discover something new in this abstract, for her client there are elements of rays of light brimming through a dark woodland or sparkling stars shining through darkness.
Impasto painting technique was used with a specific palette of greens & purples throughout, including silver, iridescent pearl with touches of silver leaf.
